Custom Builds

The sheets that run camp,
rebuilt as working tools.

Staff schedules, purchase requests, bus lists, program budgets. Most camps run on a few spreadsheets that someone rebuilds by hand every week. We turn them into tools that update themselves, using the Google Sheets your team already knows.

Who it is for
Owner-operated camps whose office runs on a handful of shared spreadsheets.
On its own?
Yes. It is a project on its own. You do not have to move your accounting to us.

What we build

Sheets that do the work.

We use Google Sheets automation, built with Apps Script, to add the pieces a spreadsheet is missing.

  • Daily automations that run before staff arrive
  • Custom menus that start a workflow with one click
  • Drive folders watched for new uploads
  • Checks that flag a mistake before it spreads

Why not new software

Your team already knows the tool.

New software means training a staff that changes every summer. A better spreadsheet means the program director and the office manager keep working the way they do now, with less retyping.

How a project runs

One sheet at a time.

We sit with the person who owns the sheet, map what they do with it each week, and rebuild the parts that are done by hand. Then we hand it back with short written notes, so it still works after we leave.

Before and after

Three sheets most camps have.

Staff scheduling and coverage

Before
A master schedule rebuilt every week, with coverage gaps found the morning of.
After
Shifts entered once, gaps and ratio shortfalls flagged automatically each day.

Purchase requests and program budgets

Before
Requests by text and email, and program budgets checked at the end of the summer.
After
A request form that routes for approval and shows what is left in each program budget.

Transportation and bus manifests

Before
Bus lists typed up the night before from registration exports.
After
Manifests built from the camper list on a schedule, ready to print or share.

Next step

Sometimes the answer is a better spreadsheet, not new software.

Send us the sheet your team dreads opening. We will tell you what we would rebuild first.
