FinOps Assessment

A real review of your books,
in writing.

We review your ledger the way our client directors review it for a camp we already serve. Every area of your financial operations gets rated, every gap gets a specific fix, and you keep the written report whether or not we ever work together.

Free to any camp considering working with us.

A canvas tent glowing at golden hour

A written record of where your books stand today.

The review

Four areas, rated on the evidence in your ledger.

Every area comes back Excellent, Good, or Needs Improvement, with the amounts and dates behind the call. Where your books are solid we say so. Where there is a gap we name it and tell you how to close it.

01

Financial reporting

Your chart of accounts, the statements management actually receives, and whether they can carry a decision. Cash flow, budget to actual, trends, and the operating metrics behind the dollars.

02

Accounting system setup

Settings measured against how your camp actually runs, bank and credit card reconciliations, uncleared items going back years, and which apps are connected to your ledger.

03

Payables and receivables

How bills get approved and paid, how deposits get recorded, card and spend controls, and what the aging reports underneath both are really telling you.

04

Other financial systems

Payroll process and platform fit, how your registration platform is configured and recognizes revenue, and where financial records live. Nonprofits add fund tracking, restricted gifts, and donor systems.

The deliverable

You walk away with a report, not a pitch.

A presentation-ready document built for your camp, useful to you and to whoever keeps your books, even if you never hire us.

Every area rated, with the evidence

Excellent, Good, or Needs Improvement, backed by real amounts, dates, and account names out of your own file. Not a generic scorecard.

Three to ten specific recommendations

Each one scored on effort against value, so you know what to do first, what can wait, and what is only worth doing opportunistically.

One to three workflow designs

The processes we would rebuild, the tools we would use, and what changes for your team when we do.

A finance function cost analysis

What your finance function costs today as a share of revenue, measured against what we see across camps, and what we believe is achievable. Included for for-profit camps, and for nonprofits when the data supports it.

A phased roadmap

Onboarding, get to work, and steady state, with what happens in each month and what we would tackle first.

The named team

The specific people who would sit on your account, with their roles and what each one owns. Not a role chart.

How it works

Four steps, and most of the work is ours.

01

A conversation

A short call on how your camp runs, what systems you use, and where the back office is costing you time.

02

You share the books

Read-only access to your accounting file is easiest. If that is not possible, five standard exports do it: a current balance sheet, a twelve month profit and loss, general ledger detail, your most recent reconciliations, and AR and AP aging summaries.

03

We review

Our team walks your file against the same checklist we use on client work, then writes up what we found.

04

We present it live

We walk you through the findings on a call, answer questions, and leave the report with you.

Step 1 of 2

Request your assessment.

What happens next

  • You send the basics here. It takes about a minute.
  • You pick a time on our calendar in the next step, with nothing to retype.
  • We tell you exactly which reports to pull, or take read-only access if that is easier.
